For me, defining life should depend upon how we design our lives. It is more of one's attitude towards life that makes him either elated or gloomy. Life is a boon that needs to be nurtured, analyzed and cherished.
On any given day, life is pretty much colorful and contained. I view it as a rainbow that displays its various shades through innumerable happenings. At the same time, it is all-inclusive, an account of our proceedings.
Life is never partial- it neither overjoys us, nor it is rude always; rather, it is a silent master- it teaches us in the most practical ways. We gain in experiences, both good and bad. The sad part is, while going through the bad experiences, we tend to complain about life. What we overlook is our ability to convert the bad into good, or getting it right the next time. In future, when we fail again, we kind of keep on nagging, and tend to lose the essence of life. But herein lies the true magic of life- in rediscovering, learning from mistakes and being enlightened. Sometimes, we should feel good to be on the losing side (after we have put in our best to win), because we know, up next, we will be on top, simply due to the fact that, by then, we will mature, think and act only for winning. Optimism is the key to enjoying life, and it can do wonders once we have been able to deploy it properly.
After all, life is no cakewalk. It tests, awards, re-tests and rewards. And we need to fine tune ourselves as per the need of the hour.

Hi Arindam
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the blog and you know I am a big fan of your writing. I am in complete accord with your take on life, believe on whatever you have penned down here. but sometimes I wonder why we always think of winning? why we feel the need always to be focused to win the race? what if this is a bait which life keeps on feeding us in order to keep us away from something? I believe without the stumbling blocks our lives will be boring as hell but ultimately we all lose each and everything we piled up throughout our whole lifespan to life anyway..isn't it? so ultimately nothing really stands out as a complete success is it? what if we have something which is more than individual success?? I don't know.....
Cheers

Hello Papai,
ReplyDeleteYour points are well taken. Now, let me put my thoughts on these.
Life is something to be celebrated to the fullest. To get the feel of that ultimate enjoyment, we need some sort of motivation. That motivation is the lure to win.
Imagine you wake up, look at the mirror and find a small pimple on the face. It certainly turns you crazy, and you make every efforts to wipe it out. Similarly, in life, we look for those dark spots (drawbacks or flaws), work towards them and wipe them off. Why so?? Obviously, because we can't afford to let them be a part of our lives, get stuck and repent later. Everyone wants to win, but no one wants to admit that. Subconsciously, that's in everyone's minds. Probably, that's the reason why most people do not feel like celebrating success.
In today's world of uncertainty, scandals, brutality and unpredictability, 'stumbling blocks' have become pretty much predictable and frequent in our lives. Infact, we can't expect to win comfortably. An easily available success is something unacceptable and uninteresting.
The definition of 'winning' should not only be limited to individual success, but it should also encompass the collective aspect in order to enjoy collaborative success.
No two words on the fact that, on the final count, it's a zero-sum game. No matter how much you win or how much you lose, you lose it all at the end of the day!!!!
hmmmm...it reminds me of the Linkin Park song
ReplyDelete...I had to fall to loose it all
in the end it doesn't even matter
one thing I don't why
it doesn't even matter
how hard you try....
thanks for replying and explaining things :) ...appreciate
